The Urgent Need for Dawah (Call to Islam)

It is well known to all those who have even the least amount of knowledge that the Islamic world today, indeed the whole world, is in great need of clear Islamic dawah. The type of dawah needed is one which explains the reality of Islam and clarifies Islamic rulings, its virtues and explains the meaning of La ilaha illallah and the meaning of the declaration of Muhammadur-Rasoolullah.

Unfortunately, most of creation has not understood these two declarations as they should be understood. These two declarations are, in essence, the roots of the religion, the basis of the faith and the foundation of Islam.

There is an urgent need for the Muslims as well as the entire world today to comprehend the deen (religion) of Allah, be shown its goodness, and clarify its truth and reality. I swear by Allah, if the world and its people were aware of its reality today, then they would surely enter the deen of Allah in crowds as they entered it after Allah made His Prophet victorious in Makkah.

The society as a whole is in dire need of reform, the Muslim and the non-Muslim societies alike. However, the Muslim society, in particular, has the most need to adhere to the correct methodology and undertake the ways and means by which its reformation will come about. They have to tread the path, which the best person of this Ummah followed; the great Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam.

For this reason, it has been made clear to students of knowledge that dawah is one of the most important issues and that the Ummah has a great need for it in every time and place. The reason for this is because people are in a great need for Daees (callers to Islam), and also for those who give guidance from the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Therefore, it is obligatory upon the people of knowledge, wherever they are, to convey the dawah and be patient with it. Their call to Allah and Islam should be based on the Book of Allah and the way of the Messenger and his Companions, and the methodology of the Pious Predecessors.
