WHAT
DOES QUR’AN SAY ABOUT PROPHET MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him)
Say
(O Muhammad ): "O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of
Allâh - to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Lâ ilâha
illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He); It is He Who gives life
and causes death. So believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad), the Prophet
who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad ) who believes in Allâh and His
Words [(this Qur'ân), the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and also Allâh's
Word: "Be!" - and he was, i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary),],
and follow him so that you may be guided. " 7:158
8.
Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) as a
witness, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner.
9. In order that you (O mankind) may believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam), and that you assist and honour him (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa
Sallam), and (that you) glorify (Allâh's) praises morning and afternoon. 48:8-9
O
you who believe! Say not (to the Messenger Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam ) Râ'ina
but say Unzurna (Do make us understand) and hear. And for the disbelievers there
is a painful torment..
2:104
Among
those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places
and say: "We hear your word (O Muhammad ) and disobey," and "Hear
and let you (O Muhammad ) hear nothing." And Râ'ina with a twist of their
tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islâm). And if only they had said:
"We hear and obey", and "Do make us understand," it would
have been better for them, and more proper, but Allâh has cursed them for their
disbelief, so they believe not except a few.
“Muhammad
() is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away
before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as
disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do
to Allâh, and Allâh will give reward to those who are grateful."
3:144
And
by the Mercy of Allâh, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and
harshhearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their
faults), and ask (Allâh's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the
affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allâh,
certainly, Allâh loves those who put their trust (in Him).
3:159
Indeed
Allâh conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a
Messenger (Muhammad) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the
Qur'ân), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing
them (in) the Book (the Qur'ân) and AlHikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of
the Prophet (i.e. his legal ways, statements, acts of worship, etc.)], while
before that they had been in manifest error..
3:164
O
mankind! Verily, there has come to you the Messenger (Muhammad) with the truth
from your Lord, so believe in him, it is better for you. But if you disbelieve,
then certainly to Allâh belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. And
Allâh is Ever All Knowing, All Wise. 4:170
O
people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger
(Muhammad) making (things) clear unto you, after a break in (the series of)
Messengers, lest you say: "There came unto us no bringer of glad tidings
and no warner. " But now has come unto you a bringer of glad tidings and a
warner. And Allâh is Able to do all things.
And
among them are men who hurt the Prophet (Muhammad) and say: "He is (lending
his) ear (to every news)." Say: "He listens to what is best for you;
he believes in Allâh; has faith in the believers; and is a mercy to those of
you who believe." But those who hurt Allâh's Messenger (Muhammad) will
have a painful torment. 9:61
And
We have sent you (O Muhammad ) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamîn (mankind,
jinns and all that exists)..
21:107
46.
And you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) were not at the side of the Tűr
(Mount) when We did call, [it is said that Allâh called the followers of
Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam , and they answered His Call, or that Allâh
called Műsa (Moses)]. But (you are sent) as a mercy from your Lord, to give
warning to a people to whom no warner had come before you, in order that they
may remember or receive admonition. [Tafsir At-Tabarî, Vol. 20, Page 81].
47. And if (We had) not (sent you to the people of Makkah) in case a calamity
should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they should
have said: "Our Lord! Why did You not send us a Messenger? We should then
have followed Your Ayât (Verses of the Qur'ân) and should have been among the
believers."!" 28:46-47
45.
O Prophet (MuhammadSal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam )! Verily, We have sent you as
witness, and a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner,
46. And as one who invites to Allâh [Islâmic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none
but Allâh (Alone)] by His Leave, and as a lamp spreading light (through your
instructions from the Qur'ân and the Sunnah the legal ways of the Prophet Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam ).
47. And announce to the believers (in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger
Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) the glad tidings, that they will have
from Allâh a Great Bounty.
48. And obey not the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and harm them not (till
you are ordered). And put your trust in Allâh, and Sufficient is Allâh as a
Wakîl (Trustee, or Disposer of affairs).
33:45-48
In
order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are
heedless. 36:6
But
if they turn away (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam from the Islâmic
Monotheism, which you have brought to them). We have not sent you (O Muhammad
Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) as a Hafîz (protector) over them (i.e. to take
care of their deeds and to recompense them). Your duty is to convey (the
Message). And verily, when We cause man to taste of Mercy from Us, he rejoices
thereat, but when some ill befalls them because of the deeds which their hands
have sent forth, then verily, man (becomes) ingrate!
42:48
Say
(O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "I invoke only my Lord (Allâh
Alone), and I associate none as partners along with Him." 72:20
24.
Therefore be patient (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) and submit to
the Command of your Lord (Allâh, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His
Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.
25. And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon [i.e.
offering of the Morning (Fajr), Zuhr, and 'Asr prayers].
26. And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib
and 'Ishâ' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud
prayer).. 76:24-26
3:164
70.
Such is the Bounty from Allâh, and Allâh is Sufficient as AllKnower.
71. O you who believe! Take your precautions, and either go forth (on an
expedition) in parties, or go forth all together..
4:70-71
Had
Allâh willed, they would not have taken others besides Him in worship. And We
have not made you a watcher over them nor are you set over them to dispose of
their affairs. 6:107
156.
And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly we have
turned unto You." He said: (As to) My Punishment I afflict therewith whom I
will and My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who
are the Muttaqűn (pious - see V.2:2), and give Zakât; and those who believe in
Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs and revelations, etc.);
157. Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write
(i.e.Muhammad ) whom they find written with them in the Taurât (Torah) (Deut,
xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16) , - he commands them for Al-Ma'rűf
(i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm has ordained); and forbids them
from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islâm has
forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibât [(i.e. all good and lawful) as
regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and prohibits them as
unlawful Al-Khabâ'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds,
beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of
Allâh's Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So
those who believe in him (Muhammad), honour him, help him, and follow the light
(the Qur'ân) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be
successful ." 7:156-157
“Is
it wonder for mankind that We have sent Our Inspiration to a man from among
themselves (i.e. Prophet Muhammad ) (saying): "Warn mankind (of the coming
torment in Hell), and give good news to those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh
and in His Prophet Muhammad ) that they shall have with their Lord the rewards
of their good deeds?" (But) the disbelievers say: "This is indeed an
evident sorcerer (i.e. Prophet Muhammad and the Qur'ân)!"
10:2
29.
Therefore, remind and preach (mankind, O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam
of Islâmic Monotheism). By the Grace of Allâh, you are neither a soothsayer,
nor a madman.
30. Or do they say: "(Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam is) a poet! We
await for him some calamity by time.!"
31. Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam to them): "Wait! I am
with you, among the waiters!"
32. Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad
Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e.
from Belief in Allâh to disbelief).
33. Or do they say: "He (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) has forged
it (this Qur'ân)?" Nay! They believe not!
34. Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Qur'ân) if they are
truthful.
52:
29-34
1.
O you (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) enveloped (in garments)!
2. Arise and warn!
3. And your Lord (Allâh) magnify!
4. And your garments purify!
5. And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!
6. And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allâh's
obedience as a favour to Allâh).
7. And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allâh)! 74:1-7
Do
they not reflect? There is no madness in their companion (Muhammad). He is but a
plain warner. 7:184
You
(O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) are not, by the Grace of your Lord, a
madman.
68:2
And
(O people) your companion (Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)) is not a
madman;
81:22
184.
Do they not reflect? There is no madness in their companion (Muhammad). He is
but a plain warner.
188.
Say (O Muhammad ): "I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except
as Allâh wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have
secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I
am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe."
7:184, 188
89.
And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 15:89
56.
This (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) is a warner (Messenger) of the
(series of) warners (Messengers) of old .
57. The Day of Resurrection draws near,
58. None besides Allâh can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it).
59. Do you then wonder at this recital (the Qur'ân)?
60. And you laugh at it and weep not,
61. Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.).
62. So fall you down in prostration to Allâh, and worship Him (Alone). 53:
56-62
128.
Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad) from amongst yourselves
(i.e. whom you know well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or
difficulty. He (Muhammad) is anxious over you (to be rightly guided, to repent
to Allâh, and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins, in order that you may
enter Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire), for the
believers (he is) full of pity, kind, and merciful. 9:128
2.
(Saying) worship none but Allâh. Verily, I (Muhammad) am unto you from Him a
warner and a bringer of glad tidings.
3. And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to
Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed,
and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps
and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with
good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great
Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).
4. To Allâh is your return, and He is Able to do all things." 11:2-4
108.
Say (O Muhammad ): "This is my way; I invite unto Allâh (i.e. to the
Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever
follows me (also must invite others to Allâh i.e to the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic
Monotheism) with sure knowledge. And Glorified and Exalted be Allâh (above all
that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikűn
(polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh; those
who worship others along with Allâh or set up rivals or partners to Allâh)."
12:108
46.
Say (to them O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "I exhort you on
one (thing) only: that you stand up for Allâh's sake in pairs and singly, and
reflect (within yourselves the life history of the Prophet Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe
Wa Sallam): there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe
Wa Sallam), he is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment."
47. Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "Whatever wage I might
have asked of you is yours. My wage is from Allâh only. and He is Witness over
all things."
48. Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "Verily! My Lord sends
down Inspiration and makes apparent the truth (i.e. this Revelation that had
come to me), the AllKnower of the Ghaib (unseen).
49. Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "The truth (the Qur'ân
and Allâh's Inspiration) has come, and AlBâtil [falsehood - Iblîs (Satan)]
can neither create anything nor resurrect (anything)."
50. Say: "If (even) I go astray, I shall stray only to my own loss. But if
I remain guided, it is because of the Inspiration of my Lord to me. Truly, He is
AllHearer, Ever Near (to all things)." 34:46-50
16.
TO DELIVER REVELATION ENTIRELY AS IT COMES TO HIM
12.
So perchance you (Muhammad) may give up a part of what is revealed unto you, and
that your breast feels straitened for it because they say, "Why has not a
treasure been sent down unto him, or an angel has come with him?" But you
are only a warner. And Allâh is a Wakîl (Disposer of affairs, Trustee,
Guardian, etc.) over all things.
13. Or they say, "He (Prophet Muhammad ) forged it (the Qur'an)." Say:
"Bring you then ten forged Sűrah (chapters) like unto it, and call
whomsoever you can, other than Allâh (to your help), if you speak the
truth!"
14. If then they answer you not, know then that the Revelation (this Qur'ân) is
sent down with the Knowledge of Allâh and that Lâ ilâha illa Huwa: (none has
the right to be worshipped but He)! Will you then be Muslims (those who submit
to Islâm)? 11:12-14
9.
Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam):"I am not a new thing among
the Messengers (of Allâh) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know
what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to
me, and I am but a plain warner." 46:9
17.
ALLAH IS WITNESS TO HIS
43.
And those who disbelieve, say: "You (O Muhammad ) are not a
Messenger." Say: "Sufficient for a witness between me and you is Allâh
and those too who have knowledge of the Scripture (such as 'Abdullâh bin Salâm
and other Jews and Christians who embraced Islâm)."
52.
Say (to them O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "Sufficient is Allâh
for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on
earth." And those who believe in Bâtil (all false deities other than Allâh),
and disbelieve in Allâh and (in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers. 29:52
8.
Or say they: "He (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) has fabricated
it." Say: "If I have fabricated it, still you have no power to support
me against Allâh. He knows best of what you say among yourselves concerning it
(i.e. this Qur'ân)! Sufficient is He for a witness between me and you! And He
is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." 46:8
18.
HEART DISTRESSED FOR MEN
97.
Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 15:97
127.
And endure you patiently (O Muhammad ), your patience is not but from Allâh.
And grieve not over them (polytheists and pagans, etc.), and be not distressed
because of what they plot. 16:127
.
Perhaps, you, would kill yourself (O Muhammad ) in grief, over their footsteps
(for their turning away from you), because they believe not in this narration
(the Qur'ân). 18:6
30.
And the Messenger (Muhammad) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people
deserted this Qur'ân (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and
orders). 25:30
19.
TO INVITE AND ARGUE IN WAYS MOST GRACIOUS
125.
Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islâm) with wisdom
(i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'ân) and fair preaching, and argue
with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone
astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided. 16:125
20.
INSPIRED
110.
Say (O Muhammad ): "I am only a man like you. It has been inspired to me
that your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God i.e. Allâh). So whoever hopes for the
Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a
partner in the worship of his Lord." 18:110
2.
Your companion (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) has neither gone astray
nor has erred.
3. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.
4. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired.
5. He has been taught (this Qur'ân) by one mighty in power [Jibrael (Gabriel)].
6. Dhu Mirrah (free from any defect in body and mind), Fastawa [then he (Jibrael
Gabriel) rose and became stable]. [Tafsir At-Tabarî].
7. While he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon,
8. Then he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] approached and came closer,
9. And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer,
10. So did (Allâh) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam through Jibrael (Gabriel)].
11. The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam) saw.
12. Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)
about what he saw [during the Mi'râj: (Ascent of the Prophet Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam over the seven heavens)] .
13. And indeed he (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) saw him [Jibrael
(Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time).
14. Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha [lote-tree of the utmost boundary (beyond which none
can pass)],
15. Near it is the Paradise of Abode.
16. When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it!
17. The sight (of Prophet Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) turned not
aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it).
18. Indeed he (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) did see, of the Greatest
Signs, of his Lord (Allâh). 53:2-18
21.
MOCKED
41.
And when they see you (O Muhammad ), they treat you only as a mockery
(saying):"Is this the one whom Allâh has sent as a Messenger?
42. "He would have nearly misled us from our âliha (gods), had it not been
that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know
when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path! 25:41-42
7.
Those who disbelieve say: "Shall we direct you to a man (Muhammad
Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) who will tell you (that) when you have become
fully disintegrated into dust with full dispersion, then, you will be created
(again) anew?"
8. Has he (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) invented a lie against Allâh,
or is there a madness in him? Nay, but those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are
(themselves) in a torment, and in far error. 34:7-8
22.
ASKS NO REWARD
57.
Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (that which I have brought from my
Lord and its preaching, etc.), save that whosoever wills, may take a Path to his
Lord. 25:57
47.
Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "Whatever wage I might have
asked of you is yours. My wage is from Allâh only. and He is Witness over all
things." 34:47
86.
Say (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam): "No wage do I ask of you
for this (the Qur'ân), nor am I one of the Mutakallifűn (those who pretend and
fabricate things which do not exist). 38:86
23.
That is (the
23.
HIS DUTY
91.
I (Muhammad) have been commanded only to worship the Lord of this city (Makkah),
Him Who has sanctified it and His is everything. And I am commanded to be from
among the Muslims (those who submit to Allâh in Islâm).
92. And to recite the Qur'ân, so whosoever receives guidance, receives it for
the good of his ownself, and whosoever goes astray, say (to him): "I am
only one of the warners."
93. And say [(O Muhammad ) to these polytheists and pagans etc.]: "All the
praises and thanks be to Allâh. He will show you His Ayât (signs, in
yourselves, and in the universe or punishments, etc.), and you shall recognise
them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do." 27:91-93
30.
So set you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) your face towards the
religion of pure Islâmic Monotheism Hanifa (worship none but Allâh Alone) Allâh's
Fitrah (i.e. Allâh's Islâmic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind.
No change let there be in Khalqillâh (i.e. the Religion of Allâh Islâmic
Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not. [Tafsir AtTabarî,
Vol 21, Page 41] 30:30
24.
HIS HOUSEHOLD (consorts)
28.
O Prophet (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)! Say to your wives: If you
desire the life of this world, and its glitter, Then come! I will make a
provision for you and set you free in a handsome manner (divorce).
29. But if you desire Allâh and His Messenger, and the home of the Hereafter,
then verily, Allâh has prepared for AlMuhsinât (gooddoers) amongst you an
enormous reward.
30. O wives of the Prophet! Whoever of you commits an open illegal sexual
intercourse, the torment for her will be doubled, and that is ever easy for Allâh.
31. And whosoever of you is obedient to Allâh and His Messenger Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam , and does righteous good deeds, We shall give her, her reward
twice over, and We have prepared for her Rizqan Karima (a noble provision
32. O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your
duty (to Allâh), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a
disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with
desire, but speak in an honourable manner.
33. And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the
times of ignorance, and perform As-Salât (IqamâtasSalât), and give Zakât
and obey Allâh and His Messenger. Allâh wishes only to remove ArRijs (evil
deeds and sins, etc.) from you, O members of the family (of the Prophet
Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam), and to purify you with a thorough purification.
34. And remember (O you the members of the Prophet's family, the Graces of your
Lord), that which is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allâh and AlHikmah
(i.e. Prophet's Sunnah legal ways, etc. so give your thanks to Allâh and
glorify His Praises for this Qur'an and the Sunnah). Verily, Allâh is Ever Most
Courteous, WellAcquainted with all things. 33:28-34
53.
They (the angels) said: "Do not be afraid! We give you glad tidings of a
boy (son) possessing much knowledge and wisdom."
59.
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 55:59
1.
O Prophet! Why do you ban (for yourself) that which Allâh has made lawful to
you, seeking to please your wives? And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
3. And (remember) when the Prophet (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) disclosed a
matter in confidence to one of his wives (Hafsah), so when she told it (to
another i.e. 'Aishah), and Allâh made it known to him, he informed part thereof
and left a part. Then when he told her (Hafsah) thereof, she said: "Who
told you this?" He said: "The All-Knower, the All-Aware (Allâh) has
told me".
4. If you two (wives of the Prophet Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam, namely
'Aishah and Hafsah) turn in repentance to Allâh, (it will be better for you),
your hearts are indeed so inclined (to oppose what the Prophet Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam likes), but if you help one another against him (Muhammad
Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam), then verily, Allâh is his Maula (Lord, or
Master, or Protector, etc.), and Jibrael (Gabriel), and the righteous among the
believers, and furthermore, the angels are his helpers.
5. It may be if he divorced you (all) that his Lord will give him instead of
you, wives better than you, Muslims (who submit to Allâh), believers, obedient
to Allâh, turning to Allâh in repentance, worshipping Allâh sincerely,
fasting or emigrants (for Allâh's sake), previously married and virgins.
6. O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell)
whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and)
severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allâh,
but do that which they are commanded.
66:1,
3-6
25.
CLOSE TO BELIEVERS
6.
The Prophet is closer to the believers than their ownselves, and his wives are
their (believers') mothers (as regards respect and marriage). And blood
relations among each other have closer personal ties in the Decree of Allâh
(regarding inheritance) than (the brotherhood of) the believers and the Muhajirűn
(emigrants from Makkah, etc.), except that you do kindness to those brothers
(when the Prophet Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam joined them in brotherhood
ties). This has been written in the (Allâh's Book of Divine) Decrees (AlLauh
AlMahfűz)." 33:6
26.
BEAUTIFUL PATTERN OF CONDUCT
21.
Indeed in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) you
have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allâh and
the Last Day and remembers Allâh much. 33:21
27.
SEAL OF THE PROPHETS
40.
Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) is not the father of any man among you,
but he is the Messenger of Allâh and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allâh
is Ever AllAware of everything. 33:40
28.
UNIVERSAL MESSENGER TO MEN
28.
And We have not sent you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) except as a
giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not. 34:28
29.
FEALTY TO HIM IS FEALTY TO ALLAH
10.
Verily, those who give Bai'â (pledge) to you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa
Sallam) they are giving Bai'â (pledge) to Allâh. The Hand of Allâh is over
their hands. Then whosoever breaks his pledge, breaks only to his own harm, and
whosoever fulfills what he has covenanted with Allâh, He will bestow on him a
great reward. 48:10
18.
Indeed, Allâh was pleased with the believers when they gave their Bai'â
(pledge) to you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) under the tree, He
knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and
tranquillity) upon them, and He rewarded them with a near victory, 48:18
30.
MESSENGER OF ALLAH
29.
Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) is the Messenger of Allâh, and those
who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves.
You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer), seeking Bounty from
Allâh and (His) Good Pleasure. The mark of them (i.e. of their Faith) is on
their faces (foreheads) from the traces of (their) prostration (during prayers).
This is their description in the Taurât (Torah). But their description in the
Injeel (Gospel) is like a (sown) seed which sends forth its shoot, then makes it
strong, it then becomes thick, and it stands straight on its stem, delighting
the sowers that He may enrage the disbelievers with them. Allâh has promised
those among them who believe (i.e. all those who follow Islâmic Monotheism, the
religion of Prophet Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam till the Day of
Resurrection) and do righteous good deeds, forgiveness and a mighty reward (i.e.
31. RESIST
HIM NOT
20.
Those who oppose Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa
Sallam), they will be among the lowest (most humiliated).
21. Allâh has decreed: "Verily! It is I and My Messengers who shall be the
victorious." Verily, Allâh is All-Powerful, All-Mighty.
22. You (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) will not find any people who
believe in Allâh and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allâh
and His Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam ), even though they
were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people).
For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Rűh
(proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to
Gardens (
32.
FORETOLD BY JESUS
6.
And (remember) when 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children
of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allâh unto you confirming the Taurât [(Torah)
which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me,
whose name shall be Ahmed. But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe
Wa Sallam) came to them with clear proofs, they said: "This is plain
magic." 61:6
33.
FORETOLD BY MOSES
10.
Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'ân) is from Allâh, and you deny it, and a
witness from among the Children of Israel ('Abdullâh bin Salâm ) testifies
that this Qur'ân is from Allâh [like the Taurât (Torah)], so he believed
(embraced Islâm) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily! Allâh
guides not the people who are Zâliműn (polytheists, disbelievers and
wrong-doing). 46:10
34.
ALLAH’S RELIGION WHICH PROPHET BROUGHT WILL PREVAIL OVER ALL RELIGIONS
33.
It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of
truth (Islâm), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikűn
(polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate
(it).
9.
He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)
with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâmic Monotheism) to make it
victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikűn (polytheists,
pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh and in His
Messenger Muhammed Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) hate (it). 61:9
28.
He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)
with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), that He may make it (Islâm)
superior over all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allâh as a Witness. 48:28
35.
UNLETTERED
157.
Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write
(i.e.Muhammad ) whom they find written with them in the Taurât (Torah) (Deut,
xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16) , - he commands them for
Al-Ma'rűf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm has ordained); and
forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all
that Islâm has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibât [(i.e. all
good and lawful) as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and
prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khabâ'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards
things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy
burdens (of Allâh's Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon
them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad), honour him, help him, and follow
the light (the Qur'ân) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will
be successful . 7:157
2.
He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu
'alayhe Wa Sallam) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying
them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book
(this Qur'ân, Islâmic laws and Islâmic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah
(As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, etc. of Prophet Muhammad
Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam). And verily, they had been before in mainfest
error; 62:2
36.
LEADS FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT
11.
(And has also sent to you) a Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam),
who recites to you the Verses of Allâh (the Qur'ân) containing clear
explanations, that He may take out, those who believe and do righteous good
deeds from the darkness (of polytheism and disbelief) to the light (of
Monotheism and true Faith). And whosoever believes in Allâh and performs
righteous good deeds, He will admit him into Gardens under which rivers flow (
37.
TO STRIVE HARD
9.
O Prophet (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)! Strive hard against the
disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be
Hell, and worst indeed is that destination. 66:9
38.
EXALTED STANDARD OF CHARACTER
4.
And verily, you (O Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) are on an exalted
standard of character. 68:4
39.
NOT A POET OR A SOOTHSAYER
40.
That this is verily the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel) or
Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam which he has brought from Allâh].
41. It is not the word of a poet, little is that you believe!
42. Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you
remember!
43. This is the Revelation sent down from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind,
jinns and all that exists). 69:40-43
40.
DEVOTED TO PRAYERS
1.
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)!
2. Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.
3. Half of it, or a little less than that,
4. Or a little more; and recite the Qur'ân (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone
and) style.
5. Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal
laws, etc.).
6. Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most
potent and good for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (understanding)
the Word (of Allâh).
7. Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties,
8. And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete
devotion. 73:1-8
20.
Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand (to pray at night) a little less than
two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so do a
party of those with you, And Allâh measures the night and the day. He knows
that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you (in mercy).
So, recite you of the Qur'ân as much as may be easy for you. He knows that
there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking
of Allâh's Bounty; yet others fighting in Allâh's Cause. So recite as much of
the Qur'ân as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât)
and give Zakât, and lend to Allâh a goodly loan, and whatever good you send
before you for yourselves, (i.e. Nawâfil non-obligatory acts of worship:
prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and 'Umrah, etc.), you will certainly find it
with Allâh, better and greater in reward. And seek Forgiveness of Allâh.
Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful. 73:20
3.
And your Lord (Allâh) magnify! 74:3
41.
WITNESS
15.
Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa
Sallam) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Műsa (Moses)] to
Fir'aun (Pharaoh).
16. But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Műsa (Moses)], so We seized
him with a severe punishment. 73:15-16
42.
AND THE BLIND MAN
1.
(The Prophet (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)) frowned and turned away,
2. Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullâh bin Umm-Maktűm, who
came to the Prophet (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam) while he was preaching to
one or some of the Quraish chiefs).
3. But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)?
4. Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit
him?
5. As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,
6. To him you attend;
7. What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you
are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allâh).
8. But as to him who came to you running.
9. And is afraid (of Allâh and His Punishment),
10. Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 80:1-10
43.
SAW THE ANGEL OF REVELATION
22.
And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)) is not
a madman;
23. And indeed he (Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)) saw him [Jibrael
(Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east).
24. And he (Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)) withholds not a knowledge
of the unseen.
25. And it (the Qur'ân) is not the word of the outcast Shaitân (Satan). 81:22-25
45.
REHEARSING SCRIPTURES

A Messenger (Muhammad (Sal-Allaahu 'alayhe Wa Sallam)) from Allâh, reciting
